Whitmire Micro-Gen Introduces New Consumer Brochure
For Reveal" Termite Monitoring System

ST. LOUIS, MO -- Whitmire Micro-Gen introduces a new consumer sales brochure for use by PMPs that highlights the features and benefits of the recently introduced Reveal" Termite Monitoring System. The brochure is available through www.advancetbs.com or by calling 800-777-8570.
The brochure explains the importance of monitoring for termites before problems occur around the home. PMPs can use the brochure to introduce termite monitoring and as a leave-behind for customers who are buying or considering a termite monitoring system
&quot;With termite swarm seasons up in most parts of the country, now is an ideal time for consumers to consider termite monitoring,&quot; says Marketing Manager Jeff Vannoy. &quot;The Reveal Termite Monitoring System is based on the proven technology and design of the Advance® Termite Bait System (ATBS), giving PMPs the peace of mind of going with one of the leaders in the termite baiting category.&quot;
The Reveal Termite Monitoring System features a station head similar to ATBS, but with a smaller, two-inch housing with only wooden monitors in the units. The stations are designed to be placed around customer homes, typically about 6-10 monitors per structure.
	The monitors are designed only to reveal the presence of termites. There is no bait tube or treatment component. If termites are found within a Reveal monitor, the technician has the option of educating the homeowner on the occurrence and upselling the homeowner to a protection level of service that would include either a liquid or bait installation.
	The two-inch housing makes installing the monitors a snap for technicians. The Quik-Lock® cap is easily opened with Whitmire Micro-Gen's Spider® Station Access Tool and the station head appeals to homeowners because it is unobtrusive and looks like a sprinkler head. Reveal offers superior wood-to-soil contact, which maximizes how quickly termite activity is noticed by the PMP and can be treated.

				<title>BASF announces new Termidor SC &amp;amp; WG termiticide/insecticide labels </title>
				<link>http://www.pestweb.com/industrynews/</link>
				<description>RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, March 18, 2008 -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved a label amendment for Termidor® SC termiticide/insecticide and Termidor® WG termiticide/insecticide, a non-repellent, undetectable product manufactured by BASF. The new Termidor labels allow for the usage of Termidor to treat additional perimeter pests; offer more flexible application options for PMP's using the product for pre-construction treatments; and further define applications made for the purpose of protecting structures from termite infestation. This new label is NOT yet approved in the states of California or New York.

&quot;The expanded Termidor label is yet another example of the commitment BASF has to investment in the professional pest management industry,&quot; said Paul Rea, director of the Specialty Products Division for BASF. &quot;This new label flexibility provides additional opportunities for our Partners to profit with Termidor through expanded pre-construction and perimeter pest treatment options and additional guidance on preventative termite treatments, which we see as a critical growth opportunity for the entire marketplace.&quot;

In addition to killing and providing residual control of ants (acrobat, Argentine, big-headed, carpenter, crazy, odorous, pavement, pharaoh, and thief), Termidor can now be used to treat for the following pests: Asian lady and darkling beetles; box-elder bugs, pillbugs; centipedes; cockroaches (Australian, Oriental, smoky brown); house crickets, European earwigs, cluster flies, millipedes; silverfish; spiders (black widow, brown recluse, cellar, hobo); brown dog ticks, paper wasps, and yellow jackets.
While the previous Termidor labels implicitly allowed for use in both preventative and curative termite treatments, the amended Termidor labels now clearly define the flexibility for both types of structural termite treatments, offering Partners additional mileage from their ongoing usage of Termidor, in addition to a host of sales and marketing opportunities. The label was amended to clearly define that post-construction treatments can be made for the purpose of protecting structures from termite infestation and/or for controlling existing termite populations. Partners can visit the new Termidor Prevention Center on PestControlFacts.org/prevention to view marketing materials available from BASF to educate consumers about the value of preventative Termidor treatments.

Partners can also now apply Termidor as a vertical exterior perimeter pre-construction treatment when a borate-based termite control product is used as the primary pre-construction treatment for subterranean termites. All applications must be made in accordance with label directions-for-use and state requirements. For more information on pre-construction treatments with Termidor, pest professionals can download the updated label from PestControlFacts.org.

				<title>Bird Barrier Featured in Episode of Discovery Channels Verminators</title>
				<link>http://www.pestweb.com/industrynews/</link>
				<description>A new reality television show, Verminators, premiered on Discovery Channel Monday, April 21. Featuring Mike Masterson and his Elite IsoTech Pest Management Team as they overcome pest management challenges around California.

In an episode that was taped in late March (and will air later in the season), IsoTech called Bird Barrier in regard to a large church and private school that was well entrenched with a flock of pigeons. Not only is the campus comprised of several historic buildings, but the church has a budget of zero.

&quot;This church had a real problem,&quot; says Masterson. &quot;They could no longer perform wedding ceremonies in their courtyard; and they were spending about 15 hours per week just cleaning up after the pigeons.&quot;

Bird Barrier's president, Cameron Riddell, got a call from Mike Masterson. &quot;Mike was asking if we 'd like to contribute products to help a good cause,&quot; said Riddell. &quot;IsoTech would contribute the manpower if we 'd donate the materials. Mike said we might even get on Verminators, he said all the right things, so we decided to go for it.&quot;

Riddell showed up at the church with the materials, and was literally assaulted by a team of camera crews. &quot;This show is going to be top notch,&quot; he said. &quot;They must have had about 20 people out there all day filming the cleanup and the installation of the products. They even asked me questions about what we were doing; it was nerve-wracking to say the least.&quot; Riddell is not used to helping PMPs install projects with video cameras and boom microphones jammed in his face.

The wide variety of architectural configurations demanded a variety of Bird Barrier products. Twenty rolls (1,000 feet) of Bird-Shock Flex-Track were installed on roof peaks and parapet caps; Bird-Flite Spikes were applied to steeples and other smaller sites, and StealthNet was used to exclude birds from a large vent shaft. Additionally they installed Daddi Long Legs on top of chimneys and Polly-Spike in small openings at the front of the school. &quot;Bird Barrier 's products went down so easily, it was really a dream job,&quot; said Masterson. &quot;The camera crews got a total kick out of the pressure washing, and the installation of all the products; I&quot;d bet they filmed more than 40 hours in that one day.&quot;

Be sure to check out Verminators on Mondays at 7:00 pm Eastern....</description>
